These Terms of Service apply to your use of the services offered by StudentVenture Corp. or our affiliates and service providers (collectively "StudentVenture," "we," "us," or "our"), including, without limitation, our user-facing application commonly known as "StudentVenture," and the features therein, websites, tools, data, and documentation (collectively, the "Services").

 

If you do not agree with these Terms of Service, please discontinue using the Service.

These Terms of Service will change over time. If we make minor changes to the Terms of Service without materially changing your rights, we will post the modified Terms of Service on our website. We will notify you by email, through the StudentVenture Service, or by presenting you with a new Terms of Service if we make a modification that materially changes your rights. When you use the StudentVenture Service after a modification is posted, you are telling us that you accept the modified terms.

 

If you have a written agreement with StudentVenture that states that it supersedes these Terms of Service (for example, if you are a Company Partner), then to the extent there is any conflict between the documents, the provisions in your separate agreement apply.

StudentVenture takes user privacy seriously. In particular:

 

Any personal information that you provide to us will be dealt with in line with our Privacy Policy, which explains what personal information we collect, how and why we collect, store, use, and share such information, your rights in relation to your personal information, and how to contact us and supervisory authorities in the event you have a query or complaint about the use of your personal information. StudentVenture does not permit third parties to collect student data, company data, job descriptions, or other marketplace information in bulk from our Services through the use of automated scripts (“scraping”), or similar or other technologies or methodologies. 1. Account Creation

You need to have an account to use StudentVenture. You can create an account on StudentVenture as a student seeking job opportunities, projects, or events, or as a company looking to connect with students. You agree not to misrepresent any information about yourself in creating or using an account.

By creating a User Account, you submit a binding offer to enter into an agreement for the use of the Service in accordance with these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy (the "Agreement").

1.1. Creating a Student / Graduate Account:

To create an account, you must be at least 18 years old. If you are not 18 years of age, please have a parent or legal guardian assist you in creating an account.

You may create your student account directly through the StudentVenture platform. You have the option to provide additional information when creating your account, such as a profile picture, professional skills, and to upload documents, such as your resume or portfolio. Any information or content you upload directly to the StudentVenture Service is governed by these Terms of Service.

 

You agree that any information you provide through account registration is accurate, current, and complete, and you agree to update your information as necessary to maintain its truth and accuracy. Also, please note you are prohibited from creating an account for anyone other than yourself.

1.2. Creating a Company Account:

To create a Company account, you must go through StudentVenture’s approval process. Company accounts are subject to a fee, as determined by StudentVenture, and are only activated after payment is received. You are prohibited from creating an account for anyone other than your company, unless you have received express authorisation to do so on their behalf.

 

When you create a StudentVenture Company Account, we request contact information, including email address and telephone number, to provide a point of contact for students and administrative staff. You have the option to set your profile as “public” or “private” during account creation, and may change your account visibility at any time by opening User Settings from the Account Dashboard.

 

You agree to provide accurate and current information and to correct any misrepresentations immediately upon discovery. By creating a Company Account, you represent and warrant that you own or have obtained all rights necessary to allow StudentVenture access to and processing of any data, materials, or information you provide to StudentVenture, and you authorise StudentVenture to access, use, and display such information for the purpose of providing the Service.

2. Student Account Guidelines

For student users, your StudentVenture profile is your first impression for companies. As a rule of thumb, keep your content and communications on StudentVenture professional. Specifically, you are not allowed to post any violent, nude, discriminatory, hateful, or sexually suggestive photos or other similar content via the Service. You are responsible for all content you upload to StudentVenture.

 

You also agree not to use the Service for any illegal or unauthorised purpose, including spam, copyright infringement, identity theft, or fraud.

You agree you will not attempt to restrict another user from using or enjoying the Service, and you must not encourage or facilitate violations of these Terms of Service or any other StudentVenture terms.

3. Task-Based Recruitment Process

StudentVenture offers a task-based recruitment process, where students may be required to complete a task related to a role they are applying for. The task is designed by the company or, in some cases, by StudentVenture or third parties. Students may receive feedback on their task performance, which may be used to improve their chances of securing the role.

By participating in the task-based recruitment process, you agree that any tasks you complete and any feedback you receive may be shared with the company offering the role and, in some cases, with third parties involved in the recruitment process.

All rights to the tasks completed as part of the recruitment process are owned by StudentVenture. StudentVenture reserves the right to use, modify, distribute, or repurpose these tasks in any way it deems appropriate. Tasks will remain anonymous, and no student names or personally identifiable information will be associated with them.

4. Company Account Guidelines

Through the use of the Service, companies will be able to post job opportunities, projects, and events, and interact with students. You agree to maintain a fair and equitable recruitment process when selecting student candidates. You also agree not to discriminate based on ethnicity, national origin, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or veteran status as prohibited by law.

 

You have the ability to contact students directly through the Service. By using this Service, you agree not to stalk, defame, bully, harass, abuse, threaten, intimidate, or impersonate any people or entities.

 

Company Accounts are administered by the company’s designated account administrators. If the company chooses to allow additional individual employees to access the StudentVenture Service through the Company Account, you agree that the account administrators are responsible for the use of the Service by those individual employees.

5. Paid Services for Companies

StudentVenture charges Companies a fee to use the platform. The use of the Service is subject to the payment of fees, as determined by StudentVenture, and as may be modified from time to time (“Fees”). All fees are non-refundable and may be charged by one of our affiliates and processed through a payment partner.

 

By initiating an order for Paid Services, you authorise StudentVenture to request and collect payment through our payment provider, and to make any inquiries necessary to validate your designated payment account or financial information. If your payment method fails or is not authorised or accepted, StudentVenture reserves the right to cancel your order without notice and with no further liability or obligation to you.

 

6. No Spam

We want StudentVenture to be a platform where companies and students can connect in a way that is productive for all involved. To that end, while we allow companies to contact students, we do not allow you to use the Service to send unsolicited marketing messages or broadcasts (i.e., spam).

 

If we determine that you have sent spam or other unauthorised content, we may take any action we deem necessary to protect our users’ experience or the Service, including demanding that you cease violating these Terms of Service, suspending or terminating your account(s).

7. Termination

You may terminate the Agreement, and thereby your User Account, at any time for any or no reason by sending an email to company@studentventure.io.

 

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account(s) for violation of these Terms of Service or any other policies associated with the Services.

8. Account and Website Security and Integrity

While we take steps to protect your data from unauthorised access, security is a team effort. You are responsible for keeping your password secret and secure, and we encourage you to update your password regularly.

 

By using this Service, you agree not to change or modify the Service to falsely imply that it is associated with another website. Creating accounts through unauthorised means, including scripts, bots, or automated crawlers is prohibited, as is collecting content through crawling, scraping, or caching of user profiles without our express consent.

 

You must not attempt to restrict another user from using or enjoying the Service, and you must not encourage or facilitate violations of these Terms of Service or any other StudentVenture terms.

9. Third-Party Links

Our Service contains links to third-party websites, apps, services, and resources (collectively “Third-Party Services”) that are not under StudentVenture’s control. We provide these links only as a convenience and are not responsible for the content, products, or services that are available from Third-Party Services. You acknowledge sole responsibility and assume all risk arising from your use of any Third-Party Services.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an “as is,” “as available,” and “with all faults” basis. To the fullest extent permissible by law, neither StudentVenture nor any of its employees, partners, managers, officers, or agents (collectively, the “StudentVenture Parties”) make any representations or warranties or endorsements of any kind whatsoever, express or implied, as to the Service or the security associated with the transmission of information to StudentVenture or via the Service.

11. Indemnification

Unless prohibited by law, you agree to defend (at StudentVenture’s request), indemnify, and hold the StudentVenture Parties harmless from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including without limitation, reasonable attorney’s fees and costs, arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Service or your breach of these Terms of Service.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms of Service and the resolution of any disputes shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms of Service shall be resolved through arbitration in accordance with the rules of the relevant arbitration authority.

13. Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service and any other policies referred to in them constitute the entire agreement between you and StudentVenture and govern your use of the Service, unless you have a separate signed agreement with StudentVenture that states it supersedes these Terms of Service.
